Flexible Waveguide
Flexible and twistable rectangular waveguides are used in a wide variety of satcom, VSAT and telecom applications that carry high frequency radio (microwave communication) signals. Flexible waveguides are manufactured from helically wound silver plated copper alloy strip material which allows the waveguides to twist and bend in the E and H planes simultaneously.

The principal applications are:

• Aid pointing parabolic antennas in line of sight microwave radio links
• Eliminate difficulties caused by misalignment or system variations
• Permit relative movement of equipment due to thermal expansion
• Accommodate moving equipment in radar scanners
• Isolate vibration

JUPITER MICROWAVE COMPONENTS
Manufactured using our flexible and twistable rectangular waveguide core, flexible waveguide starts life as spool of silver plated copper alloy strip. The strip is then precision rolled into a three dimensional profile before being helically wound around a rotating mandrel to form a continuous rectangular tube with uniform cross section and internal silver plating to minimise loss. Our state of the art winding machines utilise innovative techniques in precision metal forming enabling unprecedented levels of performance from our products.

Brass and aluminum waveguide flanges are manufactured in-house and maintained in inventory reducing product lead time so we can respond quickly to market demands. Both North American and European standard waveguide flanges are available in corrosion protected base metal or plated finishes. The flex/twist waveguide core is protected from the environment by a molded neoprene rubber jacket providing durability and full axis of motion over the operating temperature range.

Our range of flexible waveguide assemblies offer unprecedented performance and set the benchmark for the industry.
